Since 1994

Valanga is a Quebec company specialized in men’s and women’s parkas. Some models are insulated with synthetic materials, others with natural down, and the hoods are trimmed with fur.

Valanga carefully monitors the origins of the pelts it uses, which come exclusively from Canada and Europe.

To extend the life of its products, Valanga offers a coat repair and maintenance program, regardless of the year of purchase.

Originally founded in Belœil in 1994 by Jean Levasseur and his spouse Nicole Laporte, Valanga quickly moved to Saint-Hyacinthe, where its offices are still located as of 2018. All the design work and cutting, and some of the sewing, is done there. However, most of the sewing and assembly work is hired out to Quebec subcontractors. The finished products are sold on the brand’s Website and in some 60 stores in Quebec, New Brunswick and Ontario.

In 2011, the company was purchased by Joelle Royer. With a technical DEC in architecture and a bachelor’s degree in design, she heads a team of ten employees.
