As its name suggests, Surmesur is a Quebec company specializing in made-to-measure suits and shirts for men. In addition to creating clothing tailored to the client’s measurements, Surmesur can customize each and every detail: pocket style, topstitching colour, lining pattern, collar height, and so on. Thanks to its sophisticated software and China-based production facilities, Surmesur can offer unique products at prices similar to ready-to-wear. The company also uses technology to offer a distinctive shopping experience in its stores. Clients can view their garment as it is being designed with the aid of augmented reality software.
Surmesur was founded in Quebec City in 2010 by brothers Vincent and François Thériault. As of 2018, Surmesur has seven stores in Canada and two in the United States. There are also seven Surmesur “shop-in-shops” in partner stores located in smaller markets like Sherbrooke, Rimouski and Chicoutimi. After launching a franchise program in 2018, the company hopes to open another 20 or so branches by the year 2020.
