Lisette-L was founded by Lisette Limoges and her husband Neil Small. In 2001, after 30 years in the fashion industry as sales reps, they made the leap to designing pants to fit and flatter all women, regardless of body type. The result: stretch slacks with a wide waistband and no button or zipper, available in sizes 2 to 24.

Lisette-L pants got a big boost in 2014, when legendary American talk show host Oprah Winfrey wore a pair on the cover of O, The Oprah Magazine.

Winfrey has also publicly championed Lisette-L pants, saying that she owns numerous pairs.

After initially targeting women 45 and older, Lisette-L began to focus on all ages. Young pop star Taylor Swift has worn the brand’s clothing. The signature Lisette-L collection has gradually expanded to include complementary sweaters and jackets. Everything is 100% produced in Quebec.

As of 2018, Lisette-L clothing is sold in over 5,000 stores in North America. It can also be found in Europe, notably in Germany, England, Spain and Ireland.

The founders’ children now work for the company, too: David Small is president of sales, while his sister Kathryne is a spokesperson and associate creative director. The Lisette-L head office is on Parc Avenue in Montreal.
