Fusion 2000

Promotion

2000

Organized as part of the Vues d’Afrique International Film Festival, the Fusion 2000 fashion show was held a single time, in the spring of 2000. In the official program, the event was described as a look at how African traditions blend and coexist with the continent’s modern diaspora. The creations presented illustrated how designers affirm their ties with African cultures in various ways. In total, seven designers from Quebec, Jamaica, Haiti and Africa took part in the event organized by project manager Edwige Dazogbo at Montreal’s Complex Desjardins.

In the years since Fusion 2000, the Vues d’Afrique International Film Festival has continued to include a fashion component every five years.
