atelier b is a Montreal brand of ethically made ready-to-wear clothing for women, men and children. It was founded in 2009 by Anne-Marie Laflamme and Catherine Métivier, both of whom studied fashion design at College Marie-Victorin before earning bachelor’s degrees from the École supérieure de mode at Université du Québec à Montréal (UQÀM).
The designers’ environmental awareness is reflected in their choice of natural materials and focus on local production, as well as their use of high-quality design and timeless styles to create durable clothing. Designed for everyday life, the simple, classic, relaxed pieces sometimes feature distinctive exclusive prints created in collaboration with Montreal artists and graphic designers.
As of 2018, atelier b clothing and accessories were available at the brand’s workshop/store on St. Lawrence Boulevard and in some 40 stores across Canada and the United States.
