RUDSAK

BrandRetailer

Since 1994

Evik Asatoorian is the designer and founder of RUDSAK, a Montreal company that makes leather clothing for men, women and children. Of Armenian descent, he immigrated to Quebec in 1979 from Lebanon. Noting that the market for high-end leather garments was underdeveloped, he focussed on this niche and designed models for various brands.

RUDSAK was founded in 1994 in a workshop on Montreal’s St. Lawrence Boulevard.

The first collection was composed exclusively of leather jackets inspired by the style of actor Marlon Brando in the 1950s.

Various accessories were gradually added to the mix. The company began making clothing in 1998 followed by footwear in 2000. Evik Asatoorian’s preferred materials are leather, fur and wool.

A self-taught designer, Asatoorian took fashion marketing courses at LaSalle College in 1998 and 1999.

As of 2018, Asatoorian continues to head up the conception and design of RUDSAK’s collections. His creations are available through select Canadian retailers, the company’s Website, and 30 or so branded RUDSAK stores.
